So very sorry for the loss of your Dad. Claude and Catherine was such wonderful friends to my Dad and our family. They shared lots of memories and times together in the florist industry they all loved so dearly. They were all so talented, humble and worked so hard their whole lives. I am sure they are arranging the flowers in the gardens of heaven. Our thoughts are with you.

Beth and Family, so very sorry for your loss. Your mom and dad were such kind and talented people. When I was in high school, my then boyfriend got me Roses 🌹 at least twice a week every week from Hardwood’s Florist. Needless to say that my now husband, developed a good relationship with your mom and dad. My name is Tracy Parnell Whitley and my husband’s name is Pastor Harold Whitley. We pray our Great God will bring you and your family peace, love, comfort and strength to get you all through this difficult and sad time.
Claude and Catherine were two of the most gracious people I have ever known. They were always willing to please anyone they met. Their laughs were infectious. Our prayers are with all the family. YOU WILL BE MISSED BY SO MANY!

From the first day I started working at Harwood’s Florist I knew how special Claude and Catheryn were and I always knew of the beautiful arrangements Claude made from my wedding and many other designs. It was such an honor and privilege to work for an amazing man he truly was and had a heart of gold and was always there for me and my family. When my father passed he did an amazing job with the family flowers and the same for my mother . I will be forever grateful for him. Our love and prayers to the family and friends. They were so vested in the floral industry thru the NC State Florist Association and Southern Retail Florist Association as well as many national affiliates as well as their own shop. Catherine signed my NCSFA certificate when I joined many years ago. There are precious memories and stories to be told and remembered.
A thank you to florist, the unsung heroes who sometimes forsake family, holidays and vacations to take care of customers who have experienced loss or celebrating a union or special event. The late, late nights for holidays, let alone being exhausted to even celebrate your own, all to make others' lives special. Thank you, Claude and Catherine, for decades of love, care and compassion to your family, customers and floral industry - fond memories always and forever.
