Pastor Clarence George ?Bud? Walck, Jr., 82, of New London, NC, passed away Friday, April 13th, 2018 at Stanly Manor. His memorial service will be Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at 11:00AM at First Lutheran Church with Pastor James La Read Obituary
Thank you to the entire Walck family for sharing Pastor Bud with us. He loved each of us and his work at the church truly made a difference. We are all blessed that we were able to be touched by his presence. It is time for us to share our prayers and love as Pastor Bud did for us. May God keep each of you in his hands and comfort you as you move forward.
Pastor Bud was such a blessing when he came to First Lutheran Church. He was the chaplain at the Lutheran Home when my mother was a resident there and he got to know my dad during that time. Then, when daddy got sick, he make numerous trips to Troy to visit in his home, then later to the VA Hospice House in Salisbury. They were both talkers and I can imagine talked about lots of "old guy stuff". My dad was not much to talk about his faith but Pastor Bud helped him with that and eventually he would ask Pastor Bud to repeat for him the 23rd Psalm. He also visited the hospital room when my father-in-law was dying and he was a great comfort to us. Because of Pastor Bud, my last words to my father-in-law were from the 23rd Psalm ... most certainly, Pastor Bud "will dwell in the house of the Lord forever". ~ Psalm 23
Dear Dot and Family, Our prayers of support are with you as you mourn the death of your beloved Bud. Pr. Futterer has kept me informed about Bud's situation, and now we grieve with you. He was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus, and now is "forever with the Lord." May the Comfort and Peace of our Risen Savior be with you. In Christ's love, David & Diana
Dot, Charlotte, Buddy, and family, Pastor Bud is loved by so many in our community. His Calling to spread the good news of the gospel was a true gift and joy for him throughout life. He was such a help to John as he made visits and calls on congregational members at First Lutheran. I am thinking of you and praying God's comfort be with you as you remember the hope offered to us through Christ's resurrection.
Although we have lost contact over the years, we have many fond memories of you and Bud in our seminary years. Our prayers are with you and your family in your loss. Peace be with you.
