Cindy Setley Mullis' Obituary
Cindy Setley Mullis, 68, of Stanfield, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center. A private service will be held to celebrate her life.
Born April 23, 1958, in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Judy Schmidt Setley of Tampa, Florida, and the late Claude Setley. Cindy was a faithful member of Love's Grove Methodist Church and retired from Bradford Schools in Charlotte after a remarkable 48-year career marked by dedication and an unwavering work ethic.
Cindy will be remembered for her kind and caring heart, her unwavering loyalty to those she loved, and her generous spirit. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and never hesitated to put the needs of others before her own. She found great joy in traveling, searching for hidden treasures while thrifting, reading a good book, taking walks, and, most of all, spending time with her cherished friends. She was happiest when she was busy and was known by all who knew her as someone who worked tirelessly throughout her life.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Reggie Lee Mullis; her daughter, Katherine Grace Fiebka and husband, Marcus, of McDonough, Georgia; her mother, Judy Schmidt Setley of Tampa, Florida; and her sister, Cheryl Setley of Tampa, Florida.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Ellen Mullis; her sister, Debra Ellen Setley; and her brother, Charlie Setley.
The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Cindy's kindness, generosity, and faithful friendship will be remembered always by those whose lives she touched.
