Christopher Hughes Lingle's Obituary
Mr. Christopher "Chris" Lingle, age 48, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral Services for Chris will be held 4:00 PM Friday, May 10, 2019, in the Davis Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112, officiated by Pastor Johanna Miller. Interment will follow the service at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 PM on Friday, prior to the service at Davis Funeral Home.
Chris was born March 14, 1971, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of Jan Frank Lingle and Vivian Jones Lingle. After 24 years of service as an engineer, Chris retired from CSX Transportation. Chris lived a life of compassion for those in need, often donating clothes or sharing a meal with anyone homeless that he crossed paths with. A charming man with a warm and friendly personality who would give anyone the shirt off his back, Chris will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family.
In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his wife, Tammy Benton Lingle, two sons; Camdan and Chase, a sister, Donna Dee Lingle, two brothers; Jan Frank "Chip" Lingle Jr. (Kim), and Ian Lingle (Ashlyn). Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
