CHRISTINE MARIAN HANSEN PRIOLE, 45, of Charlotte, NC, suddenly passed away of natural causes August 11, 2022. Christine attended Cape Christian Academy, Lower Cape May Regional High School and Atlantic Cape Community College. She most recently worked for Atrium Health in Charlottte, NC.
Christine is survived by her daughter, Danielle Christine Priole of Colorado Springs, CO; her mother Marian R. H. Raff of Albemarle, NC; her sister Rebecca Carlin (Daniel) of Linwood, NC, and their children Danny, Alex and Cristina; her brother David Raff of Rio Grande, NJ; her nephew Herman W. Hansen, III of Millville, NJ; as well as cousins: John Rourke and children, Sarah & Johnny, of Fishing Creek, NJ; Trisha Ambrose & daughter Kristin of Chesapeake, VA; and Elaine Spencer & son Wesley of Portsmouth, VA. She was predeceased by her father, Herman W. Hansen, Sr. in 1992; and her brother Herman W. Hansen, Jr. in 2021. Also left behind are her childhood friend and “partner in crime”, Janna Hammer of PA; and her beach buddy, confidante and “sister from another mister”, Tina Wood of NJ.
Christine and her daughter Danielle, had a bond like no other. They were inseparable. Her daughter was the light of her life. Christine loved and adored her 6 ft. tall Rottweiler, Zoe, and her cat, Buddy. She was greatly influenced by her “Aunt” Linda Koch Fothergill. She adopted Linda’s cosmopolitan personality and Italian cooking skills. Linda was like a mother to her and gave her a Mr. T starter kit of fine gold jewelry. She took gymnastics classes and was very athletic. She played baseball with the gang in Rio Grande. She loved to go crabbing on the old N. Wildwood railroad bridge and ski in the Poconos. She drove a purple Camaro. She came of age in the era of big hair and big socks. She liked the 80’s music and was a Back Street Boys fan.
Christine, her husband & young daughter moved to Brooklawn, NJ where she worked many years at MRS Collections in Cherry Hill. She was affectionately known as the “Cape May Crusher.” Christine was a die-hard Philadelphia Phillies fan. Her husband was employed by the Phillies and she was privileged to go to Spring Training in FL and was a part of the Phillies Family when they won the World Series in 2008. Her husband of more than 20 years relocated the family to Colorado. The Rocky Mts. were beautiful but the ocean called her back to Cape May where she worked for various hotels and Urgent Care. Christine moved to NC in 2021 to be closer to her mother. Christine loved the beach and anything Italian.
Christine was a beautiful, impeccably dressed, witty, smart sophisticated woman. She was a gourmet cook, a talented crafter, a fashionista and could turn her abode into a Better Homes & Gardens oasis wherever it was. Christine left footprints on our souls. She was loved by many and will be missed beyond compare.
