Christine Kendall's Obituary
Christine Kendall, 91, of Norwood passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Cottonville Baptist Church with Rev. Alex Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the burial. For those unable to attend, the funeral service will be live streamed through the Cottonville Baptist Church Facebook page.
Christine was born April 6, 1929 in Stanly County to the late John Waldo Kendall, Sr. and Sarah Janie Huneycutt Kendall. She was a lifetime member at Cottonville Baptist Church and was currently the eldest member in the congregation. Ms. Kendall loved her dog and companion, Lady. Christine loved traveling to the mountains with her church members and mowing the yard on her John Deere tractor.
She is survived by nieces Judy Kittleson (Bruce) of Virginia Beach, VA and Sarah Bailey (Pete) of Mooresville, NC; sister-in-law Jenell B. Kendall of Norwood, NC; brother-in-law Oscar Norris of Gastonia, NC; 2 great-nephews: Scott Kittleson of Jacksonville, FL, and Jon Kittleson (Jenny) of Austin, MN; 1 great-niece: Emily Kittleson of Virginia Beach, VA; and 1 great-great-nephew: Cooper DeBarros of Virginia Beach, VA.
Christine is preceded in death by her two sisters: Isabel Norris and Ileana Simpson, and one brother, John Waldo Kendall, Jr.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers during recent years: Chris, Rene, Sherri, Margie, Diana, Sandy, Jill, and Barbara. They would also like to thank her care team from Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie.
