Cheryl and I became friends in 1973 when we started working at McDonald’s in Albemarle. I have so many good memories of all great time we had together during those ‘McDonald’ days, John’s Tavern, Badin Road Drive-In nights, and all the summer parties at Cheryl’s house. That close friendship lasted throughout high school and college and into our early years after college living in Charlotte. But with work, marriage, and children over the years we lost touch and had just recently reconnected on May 22.
I am so thankful we had the chance to catch up with each over over the past several months. We enjoyed many phone calls and texts, and it was like we picked right back up from where we left off all those years ago.
Cheryl was a great friend that I will truly miss. She fought a great fight to stay here as long as possible with family and friends that she loved. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I went thru twelve years of school with Cheryl. I think you covered all aspects of her life in the sweet story that you told in her obituary. I remember that when we were in our younger grade of school, that she got a necklace for Christmas one year that she was showing all of us girls. You could tell she really liked that gift! I know that you will miss her and I also know when you think of her as you will often, that you will have many wonderful memories to hold on to! We were the class of 1976 at South Stanly! Family, I’m so sorry for your loss and thankful she’s healed now in heaven. I was a classmate of the class of 76. You are in my prayers. God bless you.
