Charlie Edward Thompson's Obituary
Charlie Edward Thompson, 83 of Norwood, passed away Tuesday October 6, 2015 in his home. His graveside service will be 2 PM Thursday October 8, 2015 at Stanly Gardens of Memory with Rev. Frank Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the graveside service at Stanly Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompson was born on December 22, 1931 in Stanly County, N.C. and was the late son of Raymond and Macie Thompson. He retired from Collins & Aikman with 45 years of service and he attended Silver Springs Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alttie Jean Gray Thompson. Survivors include three sons Vernon Thompson and wife Nancy, Randy Thompson and wife Vicki and Rex Thompson all of Norwood, N.C., two daughters Diane Swaringen and husband Don and Wanda Rummage and husband Junior all of Norwood, N.C., a brother Harold Thompson of Albemarle, N.C., a sister Eileen White of Spring Lake, N.C., ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Thompson was also preceded in death by a son Edward Thompson and a sister Jennie Morton.
