Charles David Wilhelm's Obituary
Charles David Wilhelm, 69, of Albemarle passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 in his home. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Christ Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30-1:30 PM prior to the hour of service. The service for David will be led by Father Murdock Smith, Priest in Charge of Christ Episcopal Church, assisted by Deacon Vern Cahoon and Father Jim Bernacki.
Born March 31, 1952 in Albemarle, NC, he was the son of the late James Cowan "Poss" Wilhelm, Sr. and Hazel Morton Wilhelm. Mr. Wilhelm graduated from Pfeiffer College in 1976 with his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He was a life-long member of Christ Episcopal Church and was the owner and operator of Wilhelm's Exxon(Wilhelm’s Auto Care).
David is survived by a son: Justin Wilhelm (Sydney) of Star, NC; granddaughter: Emilee Wilhelm; brothers: James C. Wilhelm, Jr. (Bobbie) of Albemarle, Douglas Wilhelm (Hilda) of Albemarle; sister: Kristi Jones (Kevin) Cary, NC; former spouse and mother of his son: Debbie Sheppard; his canine companion "Buddy".
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Stanly & the Uwharrie at 960, N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Wilhelm.
