Our hearts are saddened to learn of the loss of Mary Lou and Chuck. Hard to think we will not see them
again, this side of heaven. We were friends at Oakhurst Church for many years, We left Oakhurst in 1987
and since then have seen them occasionally. They personified just what Christian living is. For many
years I worked with Mary Lou at Delmar Studios, and shared many enjoyable work experiences. We
consider these past days as the "good old days.". Our prayers are with Jeri and Chuck, Jr. during this time
of unbelievable circumstances.

I met Chuck in 1966 and found him to be a special friend. We came to work in Charlotte in 1972. From the first day in Charlotte and beyond, he discussed with me early on and I could tell he was anxious to learn about Jesus and had a desire for him, Mary Lou, Jerry, and Chucky to be Baptized, which happened early on and has
continued to be involved in all phases of his and family Christian Lives.
St. John 14 1 through 7 Chuck has quoted this as a favorite Scripture many many times.

We are so sorry for your loss. Chuck was one of our Sunday School teachers and one of the best I have ever had. It truly was his calling. He made the lesson come to life and I know he lived what he taught. We pray that God will put his loving arms around all of you and give you comfort and peace during this time and the days to come. We will miss them until we are all together in heaven. We love you.

Chuck and Mary Lou were such kind people and we will certainly miss both of their smiling faces. I continue to lift your family up in prayer. May the Lord continue to wrap his loving arms around you and be comforted to know your parents are in the presence of the Lord. They are home.

Jeri and Chuck,
We can not begin to tell you how sorry we were to hear about Aunt Mary Lou and Uncle Chuck. Our Heart hurt so badly for both of you. They were the BEST people anyone could ever know and to call them Aunt and Uncle was such an Honor! We know they will be dancing in Paradise today! Praise God!!

Jeri and Chuckie,
You and your families are in my thoughts and prayers. Your folks are included in many of my memories from youth group days and beyond. After my dad passed away, your dad wrote my mama a letter sharing many of his memories about Daddy. A little over a year ago, Mama, Beth, and I saw your folks at a memorial service for another former member of OBC. During the visitation, our moms sat in chairs set up where the line passed by. They thoroughly enjoyed catching up with each other, and talking with everyone in line, too. Old friends ARE the best friends! I count myself blessed - not only to know your folks, but also to call them friends. I love you guys!

What can I say about Chuck? A faithful servant of Jesus Christ, a man of integrity, and a good friend. He even put up with my corny, punny humor and when I told him my latest witticism, asked me "Well, are you going to put that in your book(meaning joke book)"? I remember singing with Chuck, Denny Turner, and Wayne Beachum in a quartet that Wayne dubbed "The Broad Street Boys." Sadly, all three have passed away and gone to be with their Lord within the past 2 years. Denny and now Chuck have joined their wives who preceded them in death, Chuck by only 2 days. They're now with the heavenly choir, singing around the Throne of God.
