Charles Leroy Schnibben's Obituary
Mr. Charles Leroy Schnibben,Sr., 94, died at his residence on October 13, 2015. A native of Wilmington, NC, he was son of the late Leroy Schnibben and Mary Swann Schnibben.
A devoted Lutheran, Charles was a member of Morning Star Lutheran Church of Matthews, and when physically able was always present for Worship. He was retired from Cities Service Petroleum Company as oil terminal manager at Paw Creek, NC. He was a decorated US Navy Veteran, Pharmacist Mate 1st Class during his tour of duty in the early 50's, serving in World War II and in the Korean War.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothea Jurgensen Schnibben in 2006, his son Charles Schnibben, Jr., grandson Lee Schnibben III, and brother Gerhardt Schnibben.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothea (Dottie) Schnibben (Marty Floyd), and Nancy S. Morgan both of Charlotte, and his adopted daughter and caregiver Shari Anderson; one sister Betty Jean Beddingfield of Fayetteville, NC. Charles is survived by a large number of loving grand and great grandchildren: grandson, Shane Huneycutt (Adriana) of Matthews; granddaughters Jennifer Williams (Mike) and Ashley Dawn Morgan both of Charlotte, NC.; great granddaughters,Miah Makayla Huneycutt and Emma Luna Huneycutt of Matthews, NC Haley Williams, Serena Williams, and Leah Williams of Charlotte, NC and great grandson, Michael Williams of Charlotte and a number of nieces and nephews. Extended family in Wilmington, NC includes Frances R.Lamb and family.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Capital Campaign of Morning Star Lutheran Church 12509 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105, and Novant Hospice of Charlotte. NC.
Funeral Services for Mr. Schnibben will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 10:30 AM at the Historic Chapel of Morning Star Lutheran Church, 12900 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105. Burial will be private.
