Charles Emory Petty, Jr., 83, of Waxhaw passed away on November 30, 2022 in White Oak of Waxhaw. A service will be held at a later date.
Born June 11, 1939 in Mecklenburg County, NC, he was the son of the late Charles Emory Petty, Sr. and Margaret Cox Petty. He was a chemist and a reserve police officer with the City of Charlotte. He was also a veteran of the US Air Force.
Mr. Petty is survived by four children, Virginia Lea Watson of Monroe, Elizabeth Peyton Yandle (Jeff) of Monroe, Kelly Ann Winn (Dan) of Somerset, OH, and Charles Emory Petty III (Stephanie) of Mechanicsville, VA, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
