Charles Leon Jones' Obituary
Charles Leon Jones, 65, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 5, 2026.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held.
Leon was born on December 5, 1960, in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Charles and Mabel Jones.
He is survived by his daughter, Natasha Jones Boone and her husband, Andy; his beloved grandchildren, Victor and Charlie; his brothers, Moir Jones (Diane) and Roger Jones (Karen); his nephews, Ryan, Justin, and Cameron; and his nieces, Jenny and Courtney.
Leon had a passion for sports throughout his life. A gifted athlete during his high school years, he excelled in basketball, football, and baseball. He remained an avid sports fan, faithfully following the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and spending time outdoors.
His daughter shared the following reflection:
"Our relationship was shaped by distance, time, and circumstances that often kept us apart. While our paths did not always allow for the closeness either of us may have hoped for, he remained an important part of my story. As I reflect on his life, I choose to remember the moments we shared, the lessons I learned from him, and the qualities that made him uniquely himself. His life was marked by experiences that shaped who he became, and those who knew him will remember him in their own meaningful ways. I honor not only the father I knew, but also the man he was beyond that role; a son, brother, uncle, friend, colleague, and individual who left his mark on the world. I am grateful for the place he will forever hold in my heart."
Leon will be remembered for his love of sports, his competitive spirit, and the connections he shared with family and friends throughout his life. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
