Charles Edward Higgins Sr.'s Obituary
Charles Edward Higgins, Sr., 79, of Locust passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. A graveside service will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Locust Presbyterian Church Cemetery. No formal visitation is scheduled.
Charles was born on July 31, 1945, in Kentucky to the late Earl and Mildred Higgins.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Vicki Higgins of 59 years. Those also left to cherish his memory are children, Charles Edward Higgins, Jr. and his wife Kim of Sanford, FL, Virgil Higgins and his wife Alicia of Troy, NC, and Raymond Higgins and his wife Jennifer of Oakboro, NC, five grandsons, one granddaughter, three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Charles was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Charles was a great father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Charles was a true man of God, always sharing with others. He always put God first, then family and then his friends. He loved Bluegrass music, fried chicken and was an artistic painter. Charles was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing. He always enjoyed mowing grass, watching Lonesome Dove with his sons, and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. Charles loved to help others as evident with his career in the fire service and law enforcement and will be dearly missed by all who knew him!
