Cathy Furr McCracken's Obituary
Cathy Furr McCracken, 66, of Stanfield passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 in her home. Her funeral will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 at Hopewell Baptist Church Legacy Campus, 420 Hopewell Church Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. Pastor Brian Austin and Pastor Eddie Barbee will officiate. The family will receive from 12:30 until 1:30 at the church prior to the service.
Born May 15, 1956 in Cabarrus County, NC she was the daughter of the late Clifford Alexander Furr and Margie Lucille Arnette Furr. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a retired bus monitor with the Stanly County Schools.
Mrs. McCracken is survived by her husband of 36 years, Johnny Edgar McCracken. Other survivors include Jennifer Shaw Schochet of Leland, Amanda Shaw of Stanfield, and Steven Ray Shaw and wife Emily of Stanfield, a brother Clifford Furr Jr. of Mint Hill, 8 grandchildren Randall Gaddis, Brandon Gaddis, Michael Schochet, Johnathan Schochet, Makayla Shaw, Madalyn Crump, Carson Wells, and Carter Shaw, and one great-grandson Blaize Schochet.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters Sue Griffin of Charlotte and Myra Muto of Virginia.
