Cathy McManus Greene's Obituary
Cathy McManus Greene, 68, of Norwood, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Stanly Manor Nursing Facility.
Born November 15, 1957, in Union County, New Jersey, Cathy was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy McManus. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Clyde McManus, and her first husband, Keith Greene.
Cathy is survived by her special friend, George E. Beckey, Jr., as well as her niece Nina McManus of Durham and nephew Ren McManus of Albemarle.
Cathy lived life on her own terms. Known as a spirited and adventurous young woman, she carried that independent streak with her throughout her life. In her later years she enjoyed a quieter pace and kept a small, trusted circle close by. Though reserved at first glance, Cathy had a sharp wit, a warm humor, and a strength of personality that revealed itself to those who took the time to know her. She valued her privacy, knew what she wanted, and didn’t seek anyone’s permission to live life her way.
In keeping with Cathy’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Greene family.
