Carson Lane Deese's Obituary
Carson Lane Deese, 72, of Stanfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel of Locust with Pastor Mark Pressley and Evan Didio officiating. Burial will follow in Oakboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust, prior to the service.
Born April 5, 1954, in Union County, Mr. Deese was the son of the late John Deese and Etta Threatt Simpson. He was a retired carpenter who was known as a hardworking man, quiet in nature, yet deeply kind-hearted and loving. His family will remember him as someone who would do anything for anyone, a very good man with a steady presence and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved to joke and brought warmth to those around him in his own gentle way.
Mr. Deese enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. He was a devoted sports fan, especially of football, and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed listening to football and baseball, spending time fishing, and in his younger years, playing softball and shooting pool. He loved country music, especially the songs of Conway Twitty.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise Parker Deese of the home; daughter, Jamie Hartsell of Midland; son, Alan Lane Deese (Ruby) of Stanfield; six grandchildren, Kiersten Holcomb, Dillion West, Damian Deese, Ryan Deese, Lexi Deese, and Saylor Deese; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ricky West.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust is serving the Deese family.
