Carolyn Ann Dunbar's Obituary
Ms. Carolyn Ann Dunbar, age 51, of Marshville, North Carolina, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Monday (April 15, 2013)
A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Carolyn Dunbar will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday (April 18, 2013) at Davis Funeral Home Chapel,1003 East Franklin Street,Monroe, NC 28112. Visitation for friends and family will be from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM prior to the Memorial Service. The service will be officiated by Reverend Carl Easley, Chaplain with Hospice of Union County. Burial will be private.
Ms. Dunbar was born on June 6, 1961, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of Mary Ruth Sturdivant and the late Thomas Henry Sturdivant. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Sturdivant.
Carolyn worked in the hospitality industry in North Carolina. She brought joy to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by those who loved her so much.
Survivors include daughter, Melissa Gatewood of Marshville, NC, son, Alexander Dorrell Dunbar of Angier, NC; her brothers, Wayne Sturdivant, Donnell Sturdivant, KG David Sturdivant, and Terry Sturdivant and wife Sybil, all of Monroe, NC, and James Albert Sturdivant and wife Debra of Harrisburg, NC, sisters, Mary Wright, Dolly Griggs and husband Anthony of Angier, NC, and Linda Ritter and husband Edward of Seattle, Washington, sister-in-law Shirley Sturdivant, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
