Carol Dianne Starnes Watkins' Obituary
Dianne Starnes Watkins, 71, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Atrium Health Union. Her funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 23 in the Davis Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Rick Hudson presiding. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 until 2 PM at the funeral home prior to the hour of the service.
Born November 6, 1951 in Mecklenburg County, NC she was the daughter of the late Fred McGowen and Mildred Stogner McGowen. She was a member of Living Praise Christian Ministries. She worked for many years as a CNA and also cleaned houses.
She is survived by her husband of 8 years Tommy Smith Watkins. Other survivors include four children Anne Starnes of Monroe, Benny Starnes (Angie) of Monroe, Julie King (Jason) of Monroe, Jayme Helms (Felicia) of Sunset Beach, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Baxter Starnes and second husband, Wayne Quick.
