Carol Jean Bish Smith, age 80 of New London, NC passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Carolinas Health Care System- Northeast, Concord, NC.? Her funeral will be Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle, NC with the Rev. Tony Thomas officiating.? Burial will be in the High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV.? The family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care on Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the hour of the service.
Mrs. Smith was born June 5, 1937 in Lochgelly, WV to the late King David Bish and Blanche Agnes Irving Bish and was a retired employee of Federal Pacific Electric Company.? She attended Prospect Baptist Church, Albemarle, NC.? She loved cooking for her family and taking care of her flowers.
Mrs. Smith was married to the late James Ray Smith who preceded her in death August 8, 2017.? Also preceding her in death were three brothers and six sisters.? Survivors include two sons; Aaron Smith and wife Pamala of Richfield, NC, and Robert Smith and wife Dusti of Albemarle, NC, one daughter, Belinda Clayton and husband Randy of New London, NC, one brother Curtis Bish of Conneaut, Ohio, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Stanly and Uwharrie Hospice, 960 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, N.C. 28001.
