Byron ?Woody? Barringer's Obituary
Byron "Woody" Barringer, 60, of Richfield, passed away Saturday March 17, 2018 at CHS-Northeast, Concord, NC. His funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday March 24, 2018 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care of Albemarle.
Woody was born March 15, 1958 in Stanly County, NC and was the son of Charlie Calvin Barringer of Richfield, NC and the late Shirley Lillian Brown Barringer who preceded him in death on January 31, 2015. He was a graduate of the 1976 class from North Stanly High School and a graduate of Rowan Community College. Woody was employed with Alcoa for 37 years. He attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Richfield Civitan Club serving as the Sergeant of Arms. Woody was active for many years in Bee Keeping, an outdoors enthusiast, and member of various wildlife organizations. He was a craftsman and a volunteer marksmanship judge as well as a supporter of Stanly County Arts.
Woody is survived by two daughters Rachel K. Barringer living in Malaysia and Christine M. Barringer living in New York, NY, son Garrett Z. Barringer of Richfield, NC, sister Andrea R. Drye of Albemarle, NC, two brothers Marty D. Barringer and Ty W. Barringer both of Richfield, NC and Audrey P. Barringer the mother of his children of New London, NC.
