Bruce E. Stiles of Richfield age 90 ?passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at the home of his daughter, Cindy Misenheimer.? His service will be Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM?in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Richfield, NC with the Rev. Ruth Ann Sipe officiating.?Burial will follow in the Richfield Cemetery, Richfield, NC.? There will be no formal?visitation.
Mr. Stiles was born July 14, 1925 in Haywood County, NC to the late Harley Weldon Stiles and Dorinda Thompson Stiles and was a graduate of the Western Carolina University.? He was a retired Cost Accountant with Champion Paper Company and a?member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.? He was also a member of the Richfield Civitan?Club, a mason and a member of Pigeon River Lodge #0386, Canton, N.C. ?He was?a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII in the Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Stiles was married to the late Martha Lois Saunders Stiles who preceded him in death?June 29, 2009.? Also preceding him in death was a son; Weldon Willis Stiles, two brothers; Don Stiles and Ted Stiles, a sister; Evelyn Pless, a grandson; Ben Misenheimer.?Survivors include two daughters; Cindy S. Misenheimer and husband Jim of Richfield, NC, and Cathy Stiles of Atco, NJ., one grandson; Andrew Misenheimer and wife Jenny?of Albemarle, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 111 E. Church Street, P.O. Box 86, Richfield, N.C. 28137 or Hospice of Stanly?and Uwharrie, 960 North 1st Street, Albemarle, N.C. 28001.
