Bruce L. Helms' Obituary
Bruce L. Helms, passed away at home on Saturday, February 4 2023, at the age of 79.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at 3 pm at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chad Austin.
Bruce is predeceased by his father Zeb Caldwell Helms and his mother Mary Lois Kiser Helms, Doris Helms Morton sister, Everette Buck Helms brother, James Robert Helms brother, Carlon Edward Helms brother, Bernice Helms Thompson sister, Mattie Sue Helms sister.
He is lovingly remembered by brothers Clifford Kiser Helms of Norwood N.C.; sisters Brenda Helms Kinley of Stanfield N.C. and Bonnie Louise Helms of Midland N.C
Bruce was born in Oakboro on September 29, 1943. He graduated from Stanfield High School. Bruce retired June the 4th of 1994 from the United States Navy honoring his title of Master Chief Hull Maintenance Technician. One of his many achievements include the Navy Achievement medal for duties while serving as Senior instructor, Fleet Schools, Naval Technical Training Center, Treasure Island, San Francisco, California.
Friends and family will always remember him as the loving caring and most of all giving of his time kind of person who loved animals. Bruce also served as a trustee of the Clarks Grove Baptist Church since June 2021.
