Brenda Whitley Morgan's Obituary
Brenda Whitley Morgan, 72, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday August 21, 2019 at her home. Her funeral service will be 2 Pm Friday August 23, 2019 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle with Pastor Josh Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Pauls Crossing Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 Pm until 8 Pm on Thursday evening at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle.
Brenda was born May 12, 1947 in Stanly County, NC and was
the daughter of the late Evelyn Marie Little Surratt. Mrs. Morgan formerly
worked with First Bank and State Employee's Credit Union. She was a member of
Pauls Crossing Baptist Church where she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday
School.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her husband Jimmie Price Morgan
of the home. Brenda was preceded in death by her first husband Fred Edward
Poplin. She is also survived by a son Jimmy Poplin (Jessica) of Fleetwood, NC;
two daughters Glenda Medlin (David) of Thomasville, NC and Donna Lewellen of
Norwood, NC; two step sons Jay Morgan of St. Petersburg, FL and Brian Morgan
(Pearl) of Albemarle, NC; a brother Wade Ray Surratt of Albemarle, NC; two
sisters Judy Parnell (Bobby) and Gloria Stallings both of Albemarle, NC; ten
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Brenda was also preceded in death
by a son, Michael Poplin and a great-grandson, Draylan Hamilton.
