Boyd Curtis Huneycutt, Jr., 59, of Locust, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home. His funeral service will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Locust officiated by Dr. Tommy Ross. Vis Read Obituary
I am so saddened to hear of Boyd's death. Please be assured of my prayers for all of his family and friends. He was such an inspiration for me and taught me so much about keeping myself physically strong. You were a unique young man, Boyd Huneycutt, a piece of work! Rest in peace, dear friend.
You transformed me, you made me believe in myself, you use to tell me look up at the light while training! You uplifted me Boyd! Now your in the light watching over us,... The day you passed I was on my way to see you, and then I felt you smile...cause you were telling me something...a phone call lead to a smile as well on my side cause then I realized why you always said look up at the light! Your my light I love you!

I met Boyd many years ago when he was a camper at Camp Sky Ranch where my mother and grandmother were the cooks. Fast forward to present day and a few years ago I saw him walking through Carolina Mall in Concord. On a whim I checked to see if he was on fb and we reconnected. We had a great time talking and he told me that my grandmothers cooking was what he looked forward to most at camp and boy could he put away some food. I also remember him playing guitar and singing around the campfire and his mop of curly blond hair. So glad we caught up with one another and I will miss him dearly. Condolences and many prayers to the family.
Boyd, Jr was an outstanding young man throughout his life. Knowing him from his young years, and seeing his determined attitude, made us so proud of him. He was always so friendly, and supportive with his caring way he portrayed his self. He has been our family friend all through the years. He has become a very special friend, seeing him often, how he cared for his wife and his mother, made him more special. He will be missed by us all.

Boyd was truly an outstanding student at West Stanly and as a young man who let nothing stand in his way of success. I am so sorry to read o his passing, but know there are so many who will always look up to Boyd's accomplishments. Blessings to his family.
I remember Boyd in high school on the football field during practice and at games he kept all the equipment straight he had a burning desire for achievement and most of all mentally toughest of us all Heaven is your home rest in peace
Boyd was a strong and determined person. I had some good times taking boyd to Knights baseball games and just spending time watching movies and talking. I'm so very sorry for his passing and my heart goes out to his family. I pray God gives them the peace and comfort that only he can provide. God bless you boyd my friend.
