Bonnie Jean Morton's Obituary
Bonnie Jean Morton, 75, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Her funeral service will be at 2 PM Thursday, February 25, in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Otis Goins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM Wednesday evening. The interment will follow the service at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Born August 9, 1940 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Chester C. Pence and Nellie J. Bowers Pence. ?She was a graduate of New London High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of New London.? Mrs. Morton was employed as a receptionist for Uwharrie Bank until she retired in 2008. Bonnie loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Morton is survived by her husband Joe F. Morton of Albemarle. Other survivors include two daughters, Frankie Jean Morton of Albemarle and Sheri Dawn Morton of Charlotte, two sisters, Nancy Jewell Hatley (Charles) of Oakboro and Doris Jane Heglar (Larry) of New London. She is also survived by two grandsons, Christopher J. Morton, Kevin Eudy, and two great-grandchildren. One brother William (Bub) Pence preceded her in death.
