Bobby Glenn Rowe's Obituary
Bobby Glenn Rowe passed away on July 21, 2024, in his home surrounded by family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle Chapel.
Bobby was born on September 22, 1940, to the late Arnold Quentin Rowe and Loucille Orthalene Rowe in Russellville, Alabama. He grew up and went to school there until his family moved to Charleston, SC, where his father went to work in the Naval shipyard. As a teenager, he always worked delivering newspapers or working at a gas station. Later in life, he got into the textile industry, eventually leading him to North Carolina where he stayed until he retired from Snyder’s in Albemarle.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon Cowart Rowe of the home in Richfield, daughter, Wanda Gail Rowe of Charleston, SC, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles Rowe, and sisters, Marie, Edith, and Gaylene. Sadly, he lost three of his children before he passed – Timothy, Christopher, and Annette.
Bobby loved to ride, whether on a scooter, motorcycle, car, truck, or boat. He enjoyed being out on the waters of Badin Lake, trying to catch those elusive fish. At home, he enjoyed keeping up his yard, tinkering on the truck or boat, and spending time with Sharon and the pets he loved so much.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Rowe family.
