Bobby Ray Mesimer's Obituary
Bobby Ray Mesimer, 95, of Albemarle, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
There will be no formal services held at this time.
Bobby was born on April 23, 1930, in Stanly County to the late Gilbert and Sadie Mesimer. He is lovingly survived by his children, Wanda Mesimer of Albemarle, Ray Mesimer of Norwood, Bobbie Hatley of Albemarle, and Michael Mesimer of Norwood. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Carrie Hatley, Taylor Burleson (Sean), and Leeann Mesimer; great-grandchildren, Naylen Hetland, June Lee Burleson, and Indy Mae Burleson; along with many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loretha Mesimer, in 2017, and all of his siblings.
Bobby was a proud veteran who served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After faithfully serving for 23 years in the United States Air Force, he continued his dedication to military service through civil service at Charleston Air Force Base, where he retired after an additional 18 years.
In retirement, Bobby enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with his family and relaxing while watching television. Known for his strong independence, he was also deeply devoted to caring for and supporting his family throughout his life.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility for the compassionate care and support they provided Bobby during his declining health.
