Bobby Lee Jackson Sr.'s Obituary
Bobby Lee Jackson, Sr., 92, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the Levine-Dickson Hospice House in Charlotte. A service to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date.
Born November 27, 1933, in East Laporte, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Walter Jackson and Ila Jackson. Bobby was the youngest and last surviving of six children. He graduated from Cullowhee High School before beginning his career with Ecusta Paper Corporation in Brevard.
In 1953, Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Jackson, Fort Bragg, and Fort Sam Houston. Following his honorable military service, he attended Western Carolina University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
In 1967, Bobby began his career with NCNB in Charlotte, where he faithfully worked until his retirement in the mid-1990s. Never one to sit still, he returned to work driving a school bus for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Having driven a school bus during his high school years, he found great joy in once again transporting children, especially those attending Huntingtowne Farms Elementary School. His kindness and gentle spirit made a lasting impression on the students whose lives he touched.
Bobby will be remembered as a devoted father, proud veteran, and hardworking man who lived a life marked by integrity, humility, and service to others. Whether serving his country, providing for his family, or caring for the children on his school bus route, he approached every responsibility with dedication and quiet strength. His family finds comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his beloved wife, Mary, his parents, and his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his sons, David Jackson and Bobby Lee Jackson Jr., along with other beloved family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
