Mr. Bobby James Burris, age 84 of Albemarle, NC passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Stanly Manor Nursing Center, Albemarle, NC.? His Memorial Service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tab Whitley officiating.? The family will have a Celebration of Life at the Rosebriar Restaurant on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Mr. Burris was born on January 11, 1933 in Stanly County, NC to the late Brady Burris and Bessie Almond Burris Earnhardt and step-father Ernest ?Bud? Earnhardt and was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mill Company.? He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Custodian, and former Sunday School Teacher.? Mr. Burris was an avid golfer, loved fishing and Duke Basketball.
Mr. Burris was married to Bessie Poplin Burris of the home.? Other survivors include three sons, James Alan Burris and wife Gail of? New London, NC, Ricky Joe Burris and Jeffrey Lynn Burris both of Albemarle, NC; one half-brother, Mike Earnhardt of Albemarle, NC, and one half-sister, Faye Speights of Oakboro, NC, four grandchildren, Kimberly Caudle, Wesley Burris, Meredith Burris and Rikki Jo Burris, six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
