Betty Yarborough's Obituary
Ms. Betty Courtney Yarborough, age 82, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014, at CMC-Union.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Betty Courtney Yarborough will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2014, at Lakeland Memorial Park, officiated by Reverend Chris Justice.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM Monday at the cemetery.
Ms. Yarborough was born on December 17, 1932, in Union County, North Carolina, daughter of the late George James Courtney and Nettie Ardenia Aycoth Courtney. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Harold Niven Yarborough. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Courtney, Charlie Courtney and George (Geeky) Courtney, Jr.; and four sisters, Louise White, Juanita Strawn Huddleston, Ruth Thomas and Christine Strawn.
Betty was retired from the accounting department with PCA International.
She was also a seamstress and a volunteer with Hospice.
Survivors include a son, Ron A. Yarborough and wife Lannee of Charlotte; a daughter, Mary Y. Stewart of Monroe; two sisters, Ina Courtney Teal of Monroe and Mabel Courtney Price of Monroe; a special friend, Rommie Sells of Monroe.
There are two grandsons, David Stewart of Matthews and Michael Stewart of Matthews; and a grand daughter, Sarah Stewart of Monroe.
