Betty Widener's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Ratliff Widener, age 86, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 at Woodridge Assisted Living Center in Monroe, NC.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 6:00 PM Sunday, September 1, 2019, at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112, officiated by Reverend Frank Crump.
Interment will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Park, 21674 Monroe Road, Damascus, Virginia 24236.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, prior to the ceremony at Davis Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Widener was born on August 30, 1933, in Washington County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Basil Ratliff and the Mary Carter Ratliff. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Marion Ratliff, Harold Ratliff, Bobby Ratliff and Paul Ratliff; and a sister, Frances Brown. She was married to the late Otis J. Widener.
Betty was a homemaker
Survivors include three daughters, Beth Cox and husband Todd Cox of Matthews, Janice Dayton and husband Sam Dayton of Monroe, Linda Gillespie of Indian Trail; a son, Randy Widener and wife Joyce Widener of Monroe.
There are 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
