Betty (Sue) McQuague Thompson of Albemarle, NC passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Bethany Woods Nursing Home and Rehab.? Her funeral will be Wednesday, October 4th at 2:00PM in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel with Rev. Tab Whitley officiating.? A burial will follow in the Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Mrs. Thompson was born on June 8th, 1940 in Stanly County, NC to the late Nollie John McQuage and Bettie Elizabeth Phillips McQuage.? She was a graduate of Albemarle High School and spent her life being a homemaker.? She was a member of First Street United Methodist Church.? One thing that Mrs. Thompson loved to do is bird watching.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold J. (Jay) Thompson of the home, one daughter; Laurie Thompson Almond (David) of Albemarle, NC, four grandchildren; Daniel Almond, Amber Hawkins, Amanda McGowan, and Cody Almond, five great-grandchildren.? She is preceded in death by one son Derick Tyler Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:30PM prior to the service.
