Betty Furr Mauney's Obituary
Betty Marie Furr Mauney, 75, of Albemarle passed away on July 3, 2023 in Atrium Health Concord. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11 AM in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel in Albemarle with Pastor Dustin Laney officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle from 6 until 8 PM.
Born December 28, 1947 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Grover S. Furr and Nada Luttie Harwood Furr. She was a retired inspector with Fruit of the Loom and a member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed drawing and making crafts. Her personal motto was "put God first and everything will fall into place."
Mrs. Mauney was preceded in death by her first husband Larry Fesperman and by her second husband Larry Mauney. She is survived by daughters Angela Chappell of Albemarle and Judy Chappell (Darrell) of Albemarle, siblings Kenneth Furr, Walter Furr, Martha Thompson, Joe Furr, John Furr, Annie Kluttz, Mary Isenhour, and Lewis Furr, grandchildren David Fesperman, Jessica Chappell, and Christian Chappell, and 9 great-grandchildren.
