David Slater
Keith, Kathy, and Kenneth, and families,
I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. I adored your Mom. We kept in touch over the years, through Christmas cards, and sometimes she'd call about once a year. I always enjoyed talking with her. She (and your Dad), always made me feel so welcome. Like family. I will always cherish that. I wanted to be there at the funeral home for all of you yesterday, to give each of you a hug, and tell you how sorry I was for the family. I can only imagine how much you are all hurting. Unfortunately, I caught covid last week and thought it was best that I didn't put any of you at risk. I'm sending a virtual hug to each of you, and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
With love,
David Slater
p.s. when I think of Miss Betty, this Billy Graham quote keeps coming to my mind.
"It's God's job to judge,
The Holy Spirit's job to convict,
and it's my job to love."
I think she did a good job of that.
