Betty Edmonds' Obituary
Mrs. Betty Tooke Edmonds, age 87, of Monroe, NC, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Novant Health Main.
Funeral Services to honor Betty's life will take place 4:00 PM Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the H. Vann Davis III Memorial Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112, officiated by Rev. Rick Hudson. Prior to the service, Betty's family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 PM.
Mrs. Betty Tooke Edmonds was born on October 19,1933 in Macon County, GA, a daughter of the late Hudson Tooke and Lorraine Duffy Tooke. Betty attended The University of Florida and was a proud member of the Florida Gatorettes. She was a military wife for 25 years and enjoyed tracing the lineage of her family history through genealogy. Her attention to detail was easily seen through her artistic expressions of painting, building dollhouses and constructing miniatures. Betty was also a floral designer and loved creating beautiful arrangements of expression. She had a passion for music and loved anything by Elvis Presley. Betty was the President of the Elvis Fan Club - NC Chapter and always looked forward to their monthly meetings and events to celebrate the talent of Elvis. Her big personality, sense of style and fun spirit will be remembered by her family and friends for years to come.
Those left to cherish Betty's memory include her son, Fred (Rebecca) Culbertson; her son, Hunter Culbertson; her grandchildren, Katie (Chris) Jablonski, Kyle (Jensine) Culbertson, and Cole Culbertson; her great-grandchildren, Kason Culbertson and Brady Jablonski. Survivors also include her brother, Ben Tooke, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death and reunited in eternal life with her husband, Owen Edmonds.
