Betty Jean Burleson Clayton, 81, of Albemarle passed away April 2, 2017 in her home.? Her funeral will be graveside at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Fairview Memorial Park with Pastor Ronnie Harris officiating.? There will be no formal visitation.
Born November 4th, 1935 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Claude Henry Burleson and Lillie Hatley Burleson.? She worked as a secretary for Kenney Manufacturing in Charlotte for many years and retired from Revelstone Family Practice.? She was a member of Centerview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Duane Clayton.? Survivors include 3 sons, Phillip Duane Clayton and wife Tonya of Mt. Pleasant, Michael Kim Clayton of Albemarle and Gregory Gene Clayton and wife Darlene of Albemarle, 4 grandchildren Bradley Gene Clayton, Brett Duane Clayton, Cody Lane Clayton, and Christopher Michael Clayton, and one great-grandson Sawyer Gregory Clayton. ?A granddaughter Amber Nicole Morton preceded her in death.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
