Betty Clayton Barnes' Obituary
Betty Carol Clayton Barnes,76, of New London, NC, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 in Spring Arbor, Albemarle, NC. No services are planned at this time, but the family will receive friends at a later date at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barnes was born August 5, 1946 in Stanly County, NC to the late Albert Clayton and Ida Leah Gabriel Clayton. She retired from Stanly Memorial Hospital as a business office manager. Betty was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was a volunteer at the Hinson Cancer Center. Mrs. Barnes loved artwork and painting.
Betty is survived by her husband, Johnny Sanford Barnes of the home. She is also survived by a son, Christopher Barnes (Penny) of Fort Scott, KS; a brother, Dale Grant Clayton (Donnie) of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Sylvia Everhart (Gordon) of Petersburg, VA and a granddaughter, Caroline Barnes of Fort Scott, KS.
