Rev. Benjamin David Gullett's Obituary
The Rev. Benjamin David Gullett, 85, of Mooresville, NC passed away Monday, July 10, 2023 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be 1pm Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Shearer Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. John Gullett and the Rev. Dr. Stephen Stout officiating. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12pm until 12:45pm at the church prior to the service.
He was born April 23, 1938 in St. Augustine, FL to the late Benjamin David Gullett, Jr. and Carolyn Best Gullett. Rev. Gullett was a graduate of Georgia Tech and Columbia Theological Seminary. Rev. Gullett was a former Minister at Faith Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. He was a member of Catawba Valley Presbytery. Rev. Gullett was the founding Pastor of New Hope Presbyterian Church in China Grove. He enjoyed camping, traveling to the beach and mountains and he loved reading and studying scripture.
Rev. Gullett was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jo Dowlen Gullett. He is survived by three sons, Kevin Gullett (Renee’) of Salisbury, NC, Mark Gullett of Concord, NC and the Rev. Dr. John Gullett (Virginia) of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Susan Livengood (George) of Concord, NC; thirteen grandchildren, Michael Gullett (Shannon), Tiffany Page (Joey), Brittany Barringer (Kevin), Ben Gullett, Nicholas Livengood (Katherine), Zachary Livengood (Heather) Dr. Spencer Livengood (Hannah), Samuel Gullett, Margaret Gullett, Elizabeth Gullett, Azelea Whithrow and Asher Whithrow, and eleven great-grandchildren, Casey Rattledge (Adam), Ethan, Gavin, Cadance, Thad, Corriher, Dowlen, Alexis, Aiden, Isaiah and James (JD), a great-great-grandson, Eli, and special friend, Debbie Hardy. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Coleman and Barbara Anderson.
