Ben Ivey, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Ben Ivey, Jr., age 90, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at CMC-Union.
A Graveside Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ivey will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Monroe City Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Frank Crump.
Mr. Ivey was born on October 26, 1923, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late Ben Ivey, Sr. and Daisy Hargette Ivey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Belle Privette Ivey.
He was a retired superintendent with Dickerson Construction Company.
He was also a WWII Army veteran.
Survivors include his two daughters, Shirley Davis and husband, Tommy Davis, of Ruby, South Carolina, and Maxine Lee of Monroe; three grandsons, Robert Long of Florence, South Carolina, Keith Lee of Monroe and Stephen Lee of Charlotte; two granddaughters, Deborah Bittle and husband, James Bittle, of Chesterfield, South Carolina and Emily Lee of Monroe; seven great grandchildren; and a special niece, Debbie Kiker of Lancaster, South Carolina.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Davis Funeral Home in Monroe, 1003 East Franklin Street, prior to the graveside funeral service.
