Barbara Seaman Swann's Obituary
Barbara Seaman Swann, 88, of Leland, NC, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice LifeCare Center in Wilmington, NC, after a short illness. Her graveside service will be 2pm Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Mrs. Swann was born July 31, 1934 to the late Edwin and Catherine Seaman. She was a graduate of Newburgh Freedom Academy in Newburgh, NY and Katherine Gibbs School in New York, NY. Barbara was a long-time volunteer at Hospice of Stanly in Albemarle, NC and Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC. She retired from the City of Albemarle.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Swann. She is survived by three daughters, Diane Swann Baysinger (Gary) of Oak Ridge, NC, Linda Swann of Madison, WI and Nancy Swann Stevens (Tucker) of Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren, Robert Baysinger (Breanna), David Baysinger (Rachel), Sara Baysinger (Will), Andrew Stevens, and Matthew Stevens; six great-grandchildren, Beau, Emmah, Evie, Ella, Alexander and Hannah. She loved being Aunt Barbara to her nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Seaman (Marty).
