Barbara Jean Coley Lowder's Obituary
Barbara Jean Coley Lowder, 85, passed away on Monday, September 4th, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Barbara is survived by her children; son, Tony Lowder (Barbara) of Albemarle; daughters, Debbie Macomson (Mike) of New London, Wendy Simpson of New London and Tracie Sells (Jeff) of New London. She is also survived by her sister Kit Erskine (Tex) of Norwood. Barbara is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Jennifer Page, Tony Lowder Jr., Daniel Lowder, Sean Simpson, Logan Sells and 10 great-grandchildren and 12 great, great-grandchildren.
Barbara was born in Stanly County, NC on June 26th, 1938, to the late Etheron and Esther Coley. Barbara is also predeceased by a daughter Rita Susan (Sue) Lowder in 1989. Barbara loved spending time with her family. She loved traveling to the mountains and the beach. She loved going to yard sales, playing bingo and really enjoyed drinking coffee.
There will be no formal services, the family will be gathering to meet friends at her daughter, Wendy Simpson’s house in New London from 12-7PM every afternoon this week.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care is serving the Lowder family.
