Barbara Jo Kirby's Obituary
Barbara Jo Kirby, 68, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle. Her funeral will be at 2 PM Wednesday December 28 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Walters officiating. The burial will follow the service at Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born August 3, 1948 in Stanly County, she is the daughter of the late Jessie Kirby and Helen Doby Kirby. Barbara was a homemaker and loved her family dearly and cherished the time they spent together. She was married to the late Roger Warren Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Timothy) Smith of Mt. Gilead, NC and Mandy Smith of Locust, one brother, Fred Kirby, one sister, Theresa Nance, and four grandchildren, Sasha and Dillon Smith, Brianna Burris, and Cameron Escobar. In addition to her husband, Barbara is preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Escobar.
