Arthur Lynn Thompson's Obituary
Arthur Lynn
Thompson, 71, of Midland passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at his home. His
funeral will be Saturday, August 24 at 2 PM in the Stanly Funeral &
Cremation Care chapel, 501 N. Central Ave. Locust, NC 28097, with Pastor Thomas
Gibbs officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the
funeral home from 12:30 to 1:30.
Born May 27,
1948 in Lancaster, S.C. he was the son of the late A.B. Thompson and Margaret
Thompson. Mr. Thompson retired from Lisk Trucking Inc. and was a member of
Shiloh Advent Christian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army with
over 10 years of service, a former member of American Legion Post 440 in New
Salem, and current member of American Legion Post 433 in Midland. Arthur
treasured the fellowship with his family, fellow veterans, and going deer
hunting.
He is
survived by his wife Judy Thompson, sons, Kelland and Art Thompson of
Wilmington, K.D. Thompson (Heather) of New Salem, daughters, Tonya Thompson of
Wilmington, Jessica Harrison (Jamie) of Richfield, and stepsons, Jessie (Amy)
and Jason (Sunshine) Harkey of Midland. Mr. Thompson is also survived by his
sisters, Donna Stegall of Troy and Shirley Threet (Marvin) of Arkansas, 20
grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
