Argene Thompson McKethan's Obituary
Argene Thompson McKethan, 87, of Mount Gilead, NC, passed away on Tuesday, August 30 ,2022 at her home. Visitation will be held from 2:30-4:30PM on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care in Albemarle. Her funeral service will be at 2PM on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Troy, NC officiated by Pastor Dave Wensil. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Argene was born April 2, 1935 in Montgomery county to the late Lacy Monroe Thompson and Ruth Harris Thompson. She worked at Lefler’s Place restaurant in Pee Dee and enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved her flowers, canning food, and spending time with her family. Argene was also a member at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. McKethan is survived by her daughter Sharon McKethan Smith of Mount Gilead, NC; grandchildren: Matthew Smith (Katera) of High Point, NC; Mark Smith of Clover, SC; great grandchildren: Conner Smith (Kristie) of Las Vegas, NV, Avery Smith of High Point, NC; brothers: Phillip Thompson, Sam Thompson, Jason Thompson; sisters: Toni Surratt, Alice Richardson, Brenda Marley, Marie Boles, Becky Dunn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill McKethan and her brother Bradley Thompson.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the McKethan family.
