Ardyth McCroskey Lanier's Obituary
Ardyth McCroskey Lanier of Badin, NC, passed away Sunday June 12, 2016 at Trinity Place in Albemarle, NC. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Thursday?June 16, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00PM, no other services will be held.
Mrs. Lanier was born on March 7, 1939 in Lancaster SC to the late Audrey McCroskey and Mary Lee Brasington McCroskey. She served as a piano teacher and church organist for 50 years. Ardyth was the church organist and pianist for multiple churches in Stanly County over the past years. She also taught music at Little Red School House and Park Ridge Christian School. She loved cross stitch, crochet, quilting, and sewing.
She was married to the late Robert Edward Lanier.
Survivors are her Son, Michael Edward Lanier and wife Mia of Albemarle, NC; a brother Larry McCroskey and wife Elaine of Albemarle NC, and a Grandson Asher Michael Lanier of Albemarle, NC. Step Brothers and Sisters Shirley Stitt, Herman and wife Ruth Tarlton, Beverly and husband Charles Story; nieces and nephews Heather McCroskey Blalock, Michelle McCroskey Haywood, Stacy McCroskey, Kathy McCroskey Mabry, Terry McCroskey Brandi, and Robert Manley McCroskey.
She was also preceded in death by a son Robert Edwin Lanier; a daughter Mary Elizabeth Lanier; brothers Grady McCroskey and Audrey McCroskey; step brothers Wayne Tarlton and wife Joyce, and Richard Tarlton and wife Phyllis.
Anyone wishing to make memorial in memory of Mrs. Lanier may do so to any organization for alcohol and sexual abuse or to Park Ridge Christian School 312 Park Ridge Rd. Albemarle, NC 28001 C/O Starr Wagner.
