Annie Shaver Scott's Obituary
Annie Shaver Scott passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 8th, 2021 at the age of 88. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul, of 72 years. She is survived by her children: son, Eddie of San Antonio, Texas, daughter Carolyn Scott Parker and husband Mike of Norwood and son Randy (Sherry) of New London. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Shaver Hardin and husband Richard of Columbia, SC as well as 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Annie was born in Stanly County on August 18th, 1932. The second youngest of seventeen brothers and sisters, she grew up in a very Godly loving family. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in 1943 at the age of 11. She taught Sunday school for 31 years as a member of Dunn’s Grove Baptist Church and she dedicated her life to the service of the Lord and the church.
Annie had many hobbies including baking, canning vegetables, sewing and she was known far and wide for her home cooked meals. She retired from Wiscassett Mills after 42 years. Annie had a smile and a joy that touched everyone she knew and always went out of her way to make everyone feel loved and appreciated.
The visitation will be held at Dunn’s Grove Baptist Church on Friday, June 11th from 2-4 PM. The funeral service and interment will be held at Dunn’s Grove immediately following with Reverend Jeremy Holt and Reverend Steve Jackson officiating.
