Annie Lou Cox's Obituary
Annie Lou Cox, 85, of Albemarle passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Her funeral will be Saturday, January 13 at 2PM in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel in Albemarle with Pastor Don Burleyson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Richfield, NC.
Born May 22, 1938, in Richfield, she was the daughter of the late John Adam Fraley, Sr. and the late Mary Hall Fraley. Lou was a graduate of Rockwell High School class of 1956. She worked at Wiscassett Mill as a seamstress until it closed but continued her skills making clothes and other goods at home and in other shops in Stanly County. Lou loved the Lord and was a charter member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Terry Harrison (Angie) of Rockwell, and daughters, Teresa Bolton (Shane) of Rockwell and Tammy Mauldin (Rodney) of New London. She is also survived by her brother Billy Joe “Jake” Fraley and grandchildren, Hollie Patterson (Steve), Adalie Harrison, Jared Bolton, Lauren Bolton, Mary Bolton, Avery Mauldin and Seth Mauldin.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, John “Bud” Fraley, Jr., George Fraley, Beauford “Hamp” Fraley, and Steven Fraley. She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Charles “Buck” Hartsell and Robert Cox.
