Anna Bertie Arney Thompson, 92, of Albemarle passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 in her home.? Her funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Owen Peeler and Rev. Monty Clark officiating.? Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park.? The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the funeral.
Born February 26, 1924 in Lenoir, NC, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lewis Arney and Anna Bertie Harwell Arney and was a retired textile supervisor.? She was a member of First Street United Methodist Church where she was a member of the WMU and Ladies Circle.? Mrs. Thompson enjoyed crafts and golfing.? She loved flowers and animals and enjoyed feeding and watching birds.? She was an avid Carolina Tarheel and Panthers fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Max Dallas Thompson in 1989.? She is survived by her daughter Toni Thompson Lambert (Reg) of Albemarle and 2 grandchildren Linsie Lambert of St. Paul?s NC, and Bradford Lambert of Badin, NC; sisters Edna McClurd of Drexel, NC, and Beulah Mae Teeters of Lenoir, NC.
