Ann Batchelor Currie's Obituary
Ann Batchelor Currie, 78, of Mt. Gilead, NC passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Her graveside service will be 2pm Thursday, January 28, 2021 in the Porter Community Cemetery in Norwood, NC, with Rev. Keith Walters officiating.
Mrs. Currie was born August 3, 1942 in Stanly County, NC, to the late Herbert Herman Batchelor and Annie Victoria Dennis Batchelor. She formerly worked as a seamstress and later worked for fifteen years at Walmart in Bisco, NC. Mrs. Currie attended Porter Baptist Church and she loved taking care of the animals and growing her flowers.
Ann is survived by her husband, Danny Alton Currie of the home. Other survivors include a son, Leslie Aaron of Albemarle, NC; sister, Retha Batchelor Farmer of Norwood, NC; a half-brother, Johnny Brinson of Rockwell, NC, a half-sister, Jewell Brinson of Albemarle, NC and seven nieces and nephews. Ann is also preceded in death by a half-sister, Carolyn Brinson Caudill.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Currie family.
